Wages Responsible Person (WRP)
An individual appointed by an employer to manage and monitor wage payments through the WPS portal.
Definition
Under the Enhanced Wages Protection System (WPS 2.0), employers are required to appoint a single Wages Responsible Person (WRP). This individual is accountable for managing and monitoring all wage payments processed through the LMRA WPS portal. The WRP is responsible for processing, reviewing, and confirming payroll files and may assign up to five authorized 'maker' and 'checker' roles to assist in these duties. All WRPs and authorized persons must possess an advanced eKey for secure access.
