Workers' Council

A representative body of employees in a company, elected to exercise participation rights.

Definition

A Workers' Council (svet delavcev) is a collective body elected by employees in companies above a certain size threshold (e.g., more than 20 employees in Slovenia) to represent their interests in management. It serves as the primary channel for exercising rights to information, consultation, and co-determination as stipulated by the ZSDU, engaging directly with the employer's management on various company matters.
