Wage/Remuneration
The compensation paid to a worker for their labor, which can be in cash, in kind, or as profit-sharing.
Definition
As defined by the Lebanon Labour Code, 'wage' or 'salary' constitutes the compensation received by a worker from an employer for their services. Article 1 specifies that this can be paid in cash, in kind, or as a share of profits. Article 44 further mandates that this remuneration must not fall below the official minimum pay and should be sufficient to cover the essential needs of the worker and their family, taking into account the nature of the work.
