Unjust Discrimination

Prohibition of unfair treatment based on various grounds, including gender, age, disability, and social standing.

Definition

As defined in Section 27 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2560 (2017), unjust discrimination refers to unfair treatment against a person based on differences in origin, race, language, gender, age, disability, physical or health condition, personal status, economic and social standing, religious belief, education, or political view, or any other grounds not contrary to the Constitution. This prohibition is a critical element in ensuring equitable opportunities and treatment, particularly in the workplace, and forms the basis for subsequent anti-discrimination legislation in Thailand.
