Definition
The principle of 'Trabalho Igual ou de Igual Valor' (equal work or work of equal value) is central to Law no. 60/2018. It refers to work that, when assessed based on objective criteria such as required skills, effort, responsibility, and working conditions, is deemed equivalent, regardless of the specific job title or tasks. The law mandates that remuneration for such work must be equal, prohibiting discrimination based on sex.
