Structural Injustices
Systemic disadvantages or inequalities embedded within the design or operation of the labor market or legal framework.
Definition
As highlighted by the Moroccan Minister of Economic Inclusion, Employment and Skills, 'structural injustices' refer to inherent flaws or imbalances within the existing labor market and legal framework that lead to persistent inequalities and disadvantages for certain groups of workers. These can manifest in areas such as unequal pay, ambiguous working hour regulations, insufficient minimum wage application, and inadequate protections for vulnerable workers or those in the informal sector. The Labor Code Revision Bill explicitly aims to dismantle these structural injustices through comprehensive reform.
