Special Labor Protection for Women

Specific legal provisions designed to protect women's health and rights during periods such as menstruation, pregnancy, maternity, and breastfeeding.

Definition

Beyond general anti-discrimination measures, the Law on the Protection of Rights and Interests of Women, in conjunction with other labor laws, provides special protections for female employees. These include prohibitions against assigning work unsuitable for women, safeguarding their safety, health, and right to rest during work, and ensuring regular health checks for women-specific diseases. Crucially, it protects women from adverse employment actions (e.g., wage reduction, demotion, termination) due to marriage, pregnancy, maternity leave, or breastfeeding, and mandates the automatic extension of employment contracts expiring during these periods.
