Reporting Employer

An employer required by the Act to prepare and publish annual pay transparency reports.

Definition

A 'reporting employer' is defined under the Pay Transparency Act as the government, specific Crown corporations, and other provincially regulated employers that meet certain employee thresholds (e.g., 1,000+, 300+, or 50+ employees) on January 1 of the applicable reporting year. These employers are legally obligated to prepare and publicly disclose annual pay transparency reports detailing gender-disaggregated pay data.
