For the purposes of Law no. 60/2018, 'Remuneração' (remuneration) is broadly defined to encompass the base salary (retribuição base) along with any other regular and periodic benefits, whether provided directly or indirectly, in monetary form or in kind. This definition is comprehensive, ensuring that all components of an employee's compensation are considered when evaluating pay equity, and it explicitly references relevant provisions of the Portuguese Labor Code.
Remuneration encompasses not only the contractual salary but also a comprehensive range of other financial components that constitute a worker's total earnings, such as 13th salary, gratifications, commissions, overtime pay, and various additional payments. This broad definition ensures all forms of direct and indirect compensation are considered when assessing pay equity under the decree.
