Predominantly Performed by Female Employees
Workforce that is at least 70% female for a specified period, relevant for pay equity claims.
Definition
For the purposes of a pay equity claim under the Act, work is considered 'predominantly performed by female employees' if it is carried out by a workforce that is at least 70% female, and this demographic composition has been maintained for at least 10 consecutive years immediately prior to the date the claim was raised. This criterion helps identify occupations susceptible to systemic sex-based undervaluation.
