Perjanjian Kerja Waktu Tertentu (PKWT)
Fixed-Term Employment Agreement for specific or non-permanent work.
Definition
Perjanjian Kerja Waktu Tertentu (PKWT), or Fixed-Term Employment Agreement, is a type of employment contract that is established for a defined period or for specific types of work that are not permanent in nature. The Job Creation Omnibus Law introduces provisions regarding PKWT, including the requirement for employers to provide compensation money to workers upon the completion of their PKWT, proportional to their length of service. This aims to provide greater protection for workers under fixed-term contracts. The law specifies that PKWT cannot be used for jobs that are permanent, ensuring that workers in continuous roles receive the appropriate employment status and associated rights.
