Performance-Related Pay
A component of salary linked to an employee's work performance and achievement of objectives.
Definition
Performance-Related Pay (PRP) is a variable component of a public employee's total remuneration under the Slovenian Public Sector Salary System. It is designed to incentivize and reward employees for their work results, efficiency, and achievement of agreed-upon obligations. The criteria for determining PRP are typically established through collective agreements for specific sectors or 'pillars' within the public sector. Under the 2025 reform, the performance-based salary component for performing regular duties has been increased to up to 30% of a public employee's basic monthly salary, signifying a stronger emphasis on linking remuneration directly to individual and organizational performance. This component aims to enhance the stimulating nature of public sector salaries.
