Definition

The 'Authority for Gender Equality and Action Against All Forms of Discrimination' (APALD) is an independent body whose creation is mandated by Articles 19 and 164 of the 2011 Moroccan Constitution. Its purpose is to oversee the implementation of gender parity principles and combat all forms of discrimination across civil, political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental spheres. As of early 2026, this authority has not yet been fully established.
