Negotiation duty (Förhandlingsskyldighet) refers to the employer's legal obligation under the MBL to enter into discussions with employee organizations. This duty can be general, applying to any matter concerning the employer-employee relationship upon request, or primary, requiring the employer to proactively initiate negotiations before making decisions regarding significant changes in operations or working conditions. This duty ensures that employee perspectives are heard and considered before important decisions are finalized.
