National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE)

The independent body established under Chapter 456 to safeguard and promote equality.

Definition

An independent body established under Article 11 of the Equality for Men and Women Act (Chapter 456), composed of a Commissioner and seven other members, tasked with identifying policies, monitoring implementation, investigating complaints, mediating, advising the Minister, and working towards the elimination of discrimination on various grounds including sex, family responsibilities, sexual orientation, age, religion or belief, racial or ethnic origin, gender identity, gender expression or sex characteristics.
