The middle hourly rate of pay when all male and female full-pay relevant employees' hourly rates are ordered from lowest to highest.
Definition
The Median Hourly Rate is the hourly pay of the employee who sits exactly in the middle when all full-pay relevant employees' hourly rates for a particular gender are listed from the lowest to the highest. It is less affected by extreme values than the mean and provides a good indication of the 'typical' pay within the group.
