Definition
A 'Lagebericht' is a management report that certain companies in Germany are legally obliged to prepare annually under Sections 264 and 289 of the Handelsgesetzbuch (HGB). This report provides an overview of the company's business development, financial position, and future prospects. Crucially, under the Entgelttransparenzgesetz, employers with more than 500 employees who are required to prepare such a management report must also include a report on gender equality and equal pay as an annex, thereby linking commercial reporting with social policy objectives.
