Definition

Labour remuneration refers to the compensation an employer is obligated to pay an employee for work performed under an employment contract, as stipulated in Article 242 of the Labour Code. It includes the basic monthly remuneration, which is the payment for work performed within one month and forms the basis for calculating years of service. The monthly gross remuneration comprises the basic remuneration and any additional remunerations that contribute to social security payments and taxes. The agreed remuneration is the specific amount mutually settled by the employer and employee in the employment contract.
