Definition
The 'Labour Code' refers to the Lebanon Labour Code of 1946, which is the primary legislative instrument governing private sector employment in Lebanon. It establishes fundamental principles and minimum standards for employment contracts, wages, working hours, leave, termination, and other aspects of the employer-employee relationship. It has been subject to numerous amendments since its promulgation to adapt to evolving social and economic conditions.
