Juvenile Labour

The employment of minors, subject to special protective regulations and equal pay guarantees.

Definition

Articolo 37 mandates the Republic to safeguard 'juvenile labour' through special provisions. This refers to the employment of individuals below the age of majority, for whom specific protective measures are enacted by ordinary law. These measures include establishing a minimum age for paid work (currently 15 years), regulating working hours, types of permissible work, and ensuring that minors receive equal pay for equal work compared to adult workers, thereby preventing exploitation and promoting their well-being.
