The period during which an employee accrues the right to paid annual leave.
Definition
The 'intjänandeår', or earning year, is the period immediately preceding the 'semesterår'. During this time, an employee's work and salary contribute to the accrual of their right to paid annual leave for the subsequent 'semesterår'. The salary earned during this period forms the basis for calculating 'semesterlön'.
