Igualdad Salarial, or equal pay, refers to the fundamental right of women to receive the same remuneration as men for performing work of equal value, regardless of whether it involves the same position, different positions of equal value, or similar or reasonably equivalent functions. This principle explicitly prohibits differences in remuneration based solely on gender or maternity, ensuring that any pay disparities must be justified by objective criteria such as capacities, qualifications, suitability, responsibility, productivity, or seniority. It is a cornerstone of non-discrimination in employment, aiming to eliminate the gender wage gap.
