Industrial Disputes Tribunal (IDT)

Definition

Established under the Labour Relations and Industrial Disputes Act (LRIDA), the IDT is a permanent statutory tribunal responsible for the quick and economical third-party settlement of industrial disputes, including those related to wages, when referred by the Minister of Labour and Social Security. Its awards are legally binding and aim to promote industrial harmony.
