Definition
The Human Rights Commission (HRC) is the statutory body established under the Human Rights Act 1981 to administer human rights legislation and policy in Bermuda. Its mandate encompasses educating the public on human rights, promoting principles of non-discrimination, investigating and conciliating complaints of discrimination, and, where necessary, instituting prosecutions for contraventions of the Act. The HRC plays a crucial role in upholding the Act's provisions and ensuring compliance across the island.
