Harassment is defined as unwanted conduct related to racial or ethnic origin that takes place with the purpose or effect of violating the dignity of a person and of creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment. This covers a range of behaviors, from verbal abuse to exclusionary practices, that undermine an individual's sense of safety and respect.
Harassment, as defined by Law No. 58(I)/2004 and Law No. 59(I)/2004, constitutes unwanted conduct related to any of the prohibited grounds of discrimination (such as racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, age, disability, or sexual orientation) which has the purpose or effect of violating a person's dignity and creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment. This definition covers both verbal and physical conduct, as well as other forms of behavior that contribute to a hostile work environment. The laws explicitly prohibit harassment and provide avenues for individuals to seek redress, emphasizing the importance of a respectful and inclusive environment free from such unwanted conduct.
Harassment occurs where unwanted conduct related to any of the prohibited grounds (religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation) takes place with the purpose or effect of violating the dignity of a person and creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment.
Harassment is defined as a conduct of sexual or other nature that violates human dignity if it is related to a characteristic specified in the Act of the person concerned and has the purpose or effect of creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for a person. This includes any unwanted behavior that creates an adverse environment.

As defined by Law no. 202/2002, harassment encompasses any unwanted conduct related to a person's sex that has the purpose or effect of violating their dignity and creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment. This broad definition covers a range of behaviors that contribute to an unwelcoming or unsafe atmosphere based on gender, ensuring protection against various forms of psychological and emotional harm in the workplace and other settings.
Harassment, under the DDO, refers to unwelcome conduct towards a person on the ground of their disability, or the disability of an associate, which a reasonable person would anticipate would offend, humiliate or intimidate the person. This can manifest through physical, verbal, or non-verbal actions and is unlawful in various contexts, including the workplace, aiming to create a respectful and safe environment.
As defined in the Act, 'harassment' means any unwelcome sexual advance, request for sexual favors or other verbal or written communication or physical conduct of a sexual nature or sexually demeaning attitudes, causing interference with work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment, or the attempt to punish the complainant for refusal to comply to such a request or is made a condition for employment. Following amendments, it also includes discrimination on the basis of gender, which may or may not be sexual in nature, but which may embody a discriminatory and prejudicial mindset or notion, resulting in discriminatory behavior on the basis of gender against the complainant, and can include verbal, written, or cyber modes of communication. A single severe incident can also constitute harassment.
