Definition
Under the FSDO, 'family status' means the status of a person who has the responsibility for the care of an immediate family member. An immediate family member is defined as someone related to the person by blood, marriage, adoption, or affinity, covering a wide range of familial relationships such as parents, children, spouses, and in-laws.
