Definition
An 'equity group' refers to specific groups explicitly recognized by the Pay Transparency Act as being disproportionately affected by systemic wage disparities and biases. These groups include women, gender diverse people, 2SLGBTQIA+ people, Indigenous people, Black people, racialized people, and persons with disabilities, as well as any other persons prescribed by regulation. The Act aims to promote the elimination of biases and support equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation for these groups in all aspects of employment and compensation.
