Equitable and Sufficient Remuneration
The right of workers to a fair and adequate wage that ensures their material and spiritual well-being.
Definition
Article 24 of the Constitution grants workers the right to remuneration that is not only fair in relation to the work performed ('equitable') but also adequate to provide for the material and spiritual well-being of the worker and their family ('sufficient'). This concept goes beyond a basic living wage, implying a wage that allows for a decent standard of living and supports the principle of equal pay for work of equal value.
