Definition
The Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye (TİHEK) is mandated to act as an Equality Body. In this capacity, it is responsible for fighting against discrimination, ensuring the right to equal treatment, and promoting an understanding of equality in society. This role complements its functions as a National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) and a National Preventive Mechanism (NPM).
