Definition
The Employment and Labour Relations Tribunal is a judicial body in Bermuda, established under the Employment Act 2000 and reinforced by the Equality Act 2021. Its jurisdiction has been expanded by the 2021 Act to hear allegations of discrimination in employment that breach specific sections of the Human Rights Act 1981. This Tribunal is designed to resolve labour disputes and complaints, and for the purposes of hearing discrimination claims, it possesses the same powers as tribunals under the Human Rights Act 1981, ensuring comprehensive investigative and remedial capabilities.
