Employee Segmentation
The division of employees into groups based on job type, role, or ranking for pay gap analysis.
Definition
Employee segmentation, or 'פילוח עובדים' (piluach ovdim), refers to the division of employees in the workplace into groups according to types of employees, types of jobs, or types of rankings, all in accordance with the type and nature of the workplace. This segmentation is crucial for conducting meaningful comparisons of average wages and identifying gender pay gaps within comparable groups. The law grants employers discretion in defining these groups, provided the segmentation accurately reflects the workplace structure and facilitates authentic comparisons.
