Discrimination in Employment
Any distinction, exclusion, or preference that impairs equality of opportunity or treatment in employment.
Definition
Article 6 of Law No. 66/2018 defines discrimination in employment as any distinction, exclusion, or preference made on the basis of race, colour, sex, religion, political opinion, national extraction, social origin, marital status, family responsibilities, disability, or any other ground that has the effect of nullifying or impairing equality of opportunity or treatment in employment or occupation. This includes discrimination in hiring, promotion, training, working conditions, and termination, ensuring broad protection for workers.
