Definition

Discapacidad (Disability) is defined as a condition resulting from the interaction between individuals with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments and attitudinal and environmental barriers that prevent their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others. This definition was reformed by Article 1 of Law N° 9207 on February 25, 2014, aligning with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
