The Department of Industrial and Employment Relations (DIER) is the regulatory body in Malta tasked with the enforcement of employment legislation, including the Employment and Industrial Relations Act (Cap. 452) and its subsidiary Wage Regulation Orders. DIER's responsibilities include conducting inspections and investigations, mediating industrial disputes, providing information and advice on employment rights and obligations, and ensuring compliance with national and international labour standards.
