Concerted Activity
Activities by employees for collective bargaining or mutual aid/protection.
Definition
'Concerted activity,' as protected by the Illinois Workplace Transparency Act Amendment 2026, refers to actions taken by two or more employees (or sometimes a single employee acting on behalf of others) for the purpose of collective bargaining or other mutual aid or protection. This includes, but is not limited to, discussing wages, benefits, or working conditions; organizing a union; or raising concerns about workplace safety or unfair labor practices. The amendment explicitly prohibits employers from restricting such activities, aligning with principles established under the National Labor Relations Act.
