Barometer of Pay Differences
An annual statistical report published by the Portuguese government detailing gender pay gaps across sectors, companies, professions, and qualifications.
Definition
The 'Barometer of Pay Differences between Women and Men' is an innovative instrument introduced by Law No. 60/2018. It is an annual statistical report compiled by the Ministry of Labor, Solidarity, and Social Security, based on detailed data submitted by employers through the 'Relatório Único'. This barometer provides detailed, disaggregated information on gender pay gaps at national, sectoral, company, professional, and qualification levels, serving as a key tool for transparency, public awareness, monitoring, and identifying areas requiring targeted intervention by enforcement bodies.
